Awards season aligns with Get Fit season. It’s very tempting to look at the shiny, happy people on the red carpet and think how great their lives must be. It’s very tempting to look at the shiny, happy people at the gym and think how lucky they are to be so fit.
Sequins. Think of them as sequins, which are small plates of shining metal or plastic used for ornamentation.
Think about this: a sequin only appears beautiful when surrounded by other sequins in the right lighting. Together, the sequins work to create a visually elegant dance of light and dark. Alone, a sequin can appear dull and even blend in with its surroundings.
Perhaps one way to improve our perceptions is to get with shiny, happy people – work with them and beside them. What wonderful thing might happen? That we begin to find our sparkle?
