“Home is where you go to find solace from the ever changing chaos, to find love within the confines of a heartless world, and to be reminded that no matter how far you wander, there will always be something waiting when you return.” ~ Kendal Rob
Hugs. Stories. Laughter. Gentleness. Love. Slowing down. Sitting down. Good food. Where can we experience these things? Home.
If home is where the heart is, then we must go home often. No matter where “home” is for us – the place we grew up, the boat on an ocean, our friends from college, the front porch of Grandma’s house – it’s important to get back for a visit! We so easily fill up our days with the DOING of life. Time flies when we do that.
When we focus on the BEING in our lives, that is when we savor the experiences, wade through the day, and warp time to a near standstill. We feel the comfort, safety, and compassion from the environment in which we flourished – surrounding ourselves with the sights and sounds of familiarity that feed our souls.
Decide today that it’s time to strengthen that heartbeat, not by doing more, but by being more. That can happen more naturally when we venture home.
Make it a strong day!
