“If you are cold, tea will warm you; If you are too heated, it will cool you; If you are depressed, it will cheer you; If you are excited, it will calm you.” ~ William Ewart Gladstone
I’m a coffee person and only have tea if I’m under the weather. Coffee is an on-the-go and attack the day kind of a drink. Tea is a sit down, read a book, wait for the water to boil, steep for several minutes, and take-your-time kind of a drink. Lately, it seems like tea might be the wiser option.
When life speeds up, so does our decision-making. There are more times in a day when we are forced to make quick choices about the future. We do that often without thinking. This results in unpleasant consequences.
Sure! I’ll pick that up. Yes! I can help with the meeting. No problem! I will make four dozen cookies for that event. Okay! Put me down for that project.
While saying yes to life is important, so is spending a hot minute with our calendars. Think about the consequences that “Yes” has on your time, your health, your family, your animals, your schedule, your passion. Before making the next decision, take a few minutes to steep, allowing all the outcomes to soak into your brain like the flavors in a good cup of tea.
Make it a strong day!
