Knock It Off!

Make the most of yourself…for that is all there is of you. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

We are all working to be better people, better parents, better employees, better volunteers, better sons and daughters – we are not slackers. One way we gauge our progress toward betterment is to look to our left and our right.

“They” might be similar to us in age or height or weight or profession or faith or personality, so it means we should be doing THAT or looking like THAT or making THAT income or behaving THAT way…nope. False. We do not get to do that, because we have no understanding about how “they” unfolded. We all unfold at different rates. Your journey has unique paths and teachers and temptations and potholes and happy surprises.

It is unfair to compare. Recognize your strengths and successes! Celebrate your learning and growth! Remember how you’ve worked to move forward. This is about your journey, no one else’s. Make it count!

Make it a strong day!
