How many people does it take to make you feel good about yourself? The answer is ONE – feeling good about yourself starts with YOU! Yes, as we developed, there may have been people in our lives who failed us – our parents, friends, teachers, coaches, and authority figures. As children, we had little control over our environments and the humans in them; however, as adults we do.
If you grew up surrounded by negative, unhealthy, unhappy people, then it is time to do something about it. Do whatever it takes to begin healing – STARTING TODAY. Recognize toxicity in your life and get rid of it, from the clutter in your home to the bad relationships holding you back. Put good things into your body. Get support for addictions that are numbing the pain. Move and provide yourself with fresh air and a good sweat. Find ways to start laughing more often. Whatever it takes to feel good about yourself in ways that will improve your life, do it.
Only you can make that choice. Only you can take yourself out of that poopy diaper and move on with your life. One perk of adulthood is options. You’ve got them. Use them.
