“For fast acting relief, try slowing down.” – Lily Tomlin
“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” – Lao Tzu
Yesterday, I planted a garden (and weeded and mulched and put in flowers) for 12 hours.
As we celebrated with a Mother’s Day dinner on the deck, my kids let me know – very lovingly – that I stress them out. š³ Apparently, Iāve been modeling the “move-until-you-collapse” method of living⦠the very cycle I swore Iād break.
My daughter, in all her wisdom, said:
āIf you want to break the pattern, you literally have to sit down.ā š
So in honor of Motherās Day – and all the nurturers, leaders, and go-getters who never stop moving – Iām practicing what I preach: pausing.
This week, Iām tending not just to my garden, but to myself.
And Iām inviting you to do the same.
š Give yourself breaks.
š Stop moving and rest.
š Make a decision to not do something.
š Choose youāguilt-free, unapologetically, joyfully.
Growth still happens⦠even when youāre sitting still.
TAKE ACTION: Don’t.
