“For fast acting relief, try slowing down.” – Lily Tomlin
“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” – Lao Tzu
Yesterday, I planted a garden (and weeded and mulched and put in flowers) for 12 hours.
As we celebrated with a Mother’s Day dinner on the deck, my kids let me know – very lovingly – that I stress them out. 😳 Apparently, I’ve been modeling the “move-until-you-collapse” method of living… the very cycle I swore I’d break.
My daughter, in all her wisdom, said:
“If you want to break the pattern, you literally have to sit down.” 😂
So in honor of Mother’s Day – and all the nurturers, leaders, and go-getters who never stop moving – I’m practicing what I preach: pausing.
This week, I’m tending not just to my garden, but to myself.
And I’m inviting you to do the same.
💛 Give yourself breaks.
💛 Stop moving and rest.
💛 Make a decision to not do something.
💛 Choose you—guilt-free, unapologetically, joyfully.
Growth still happens… even when you’re sitting still.
TAKE ACTION: Don’t.
