Bad news is that you can control nothing but your thoughts. Good news is that with your thoughts you can control everything else. ~ Debasish Mridha
When it’s time to discuss something important – our finances, our relationships, our health – we are asked to have a seat. It’s rarely a comfortable experience. Listening requires prefrontal cortex kind of attention, when we’re most likely operating in our emotional brain.
Playing the outcome or looking back at all the things we should have done do us NO GOOD. Getting ourselves in the moment to call on our skills and resources is the best way to control our thoughts. And we sit because we are being asked to take action based on those thoughts. So before standing to leave that seat, write out measurable, achievable and time-bound tasks to get you moving forward. The steps are usually simple; the dedication and execution are challenging.
The most important piece is believing that it can be done and that you deserve the best! Would you rather be taking action on your life or sitting in that seat? Get to it!
Make it a strong day!
