Twists & Turns

You do not suffer because things are impermanent. You suffer because things are impermanent and you think they are permanent. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Thich Nhat Hanh describes looking through a kaleidoscope as a way of embracing the impermanence of life. As we experience the beautiful changes when the kaleidoscope turns, we are aware that life, too, is ever-changing. Instead of crying about it, we must accept the new colors and patterns that appear as a result of keeping our eyes and hearts open and our minds ever curious.

The better we become at transitioning, the better we become at life. Perk up and lean in when challenges arise; these are opportunities to learn. It’s like attending a wonderful party and partaking in the fun that occurs. Then we must go home and leave the enchanting place – often times with a party favor. This small take away reminds us of our experience and leaves us with happy memories. Life continually gifts us with goodie bags, but they’re only “good” if you open them.

Make it a strong day!
