Peace Be With You

Nothing can bring you peace but yourself. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Peace. It’s been quite a long time since I’ve heard someone say, “I need some peace and quiet.” It might be because we have become so accustomed to living a noisy existence. We don’t know how to behave in silence. Some of us are even afraid of it. Alone with our thoughts? Yes – and we might surprise ourselves when we listen to that inner voice.

Like anything else, if it’s important to us, we will make it a priority. This means carving out time during the day to give it some attention. We must make time for peace in our lives, and we don’t have to run away to do this. Commit to starting the day with meditation or exercise or a connection with nature instead of turning on the TV or the computer. Reduce noise by turning off the radio in the car or closing the door at work or taking a lunch break. Like anything in life, peace takes practice.

Trust that peaceful moments create good vibrations in our bodies. Without time for relaxation and quiet, we are unable to rejuvenate and heal from the strenuous workout we put our brains through every day. Most importantly, we have to BELIEVE that we deserve to feel at peace!

Make it a strong day!
