All is Well

“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.” ~ Corrie ten Boom

Can you imagine worrying every time you approached a faucet that perhaps water would not come out? No, because if for some reason that happened, water can be found elsewhere or a plumber could come to the rescue. What are you worrying about that empties you? Empty of joy, hope, compassion, energy, motivation, passion or love?

Worrying requires energy. That is energy spent in vain. Imagine walking up to the well, cranking the handle, watching the bucket drop, waiting for the bucket to fill, turning the handle again to bring the bucket up, using all the muscles in your body to retrieve that bucket, only to realize you’ve got a bucket of dirt. Futile. So is worry.

When a worry arises this week, ask yourself, “What would I do if that happened?” and listen to the answer. We all have skills to handle life. If there is no answer to your worry, then trust that if and when the time comes, you will be well-equipped to address it and move on. In the meantime, enjoy some happiness.

Make it a strong day!
