Most of us get down on ourselves once in awhile. When something goes wrong, we figure that it was something we did. These are toxic thoughts for our brains, which ultimately affect the rest of our bodies.
Be kind to yourself. Like the Dali Lama notes, it is always possible.
Recognize when you are using negative self-talk, then reframe it. Instead of thinking that you have screwed up, find something in that moment that your are grateful for and then thank yourself for recognizing that.
Healthy self-talk will help us navigate many situations in life. We must stay positive and in a healthy mindset. The good news is that the more you practice positive self-talk, the easier it becomes! You do so much for others in your life – it’s time to return the favor to yourself!
