“If you lose direction, go to a higher ground.” ~ Toba Beta
A sense of direction is a gift – to know where we are in space and determine how to get where we want to go is a skill. For some it comes naturally; for others (like me) it requires an arsenal of tools from maps to phones to full-out navigations systems. It usually helps to have a landmark or something to use as an anchor for the journey.
While in Scotland, I used the castle. It was a perfect guidepost for navigating Edinburgh! If I wandered too far off the path, I simply looked for the castle and could make it back safely. That got me thinking about the “inner-castle.” What do we use as an anchor for our personal direction? Where are we going with our careers? What about our family life? Emotional well-being? How do we gauge whether we are on the best path for us?
Spend some time this week determining your anchor. It may be location, circumstance or wisdom that guides your search. No matter, because at some point we must all look to the castle!
Make it a strong day!
