It is named the “Web” for good reason. ~ David Foster Wallace
As a society, we often complain about not having enough time. We work non-stop to be productive. We stress out over running from one commitment to the next. We rarely make time to rest.
In an effort to “de-stress,” we rely on mindless mini-trips online to see what our friends are doing, update ourselves on the latest news, and look at images of happy people and places. In effect, we accomplish the exact opposite. We escape our chaos and stress to look at all the highlights of other people’s lives or the negative news stories and it only increases our unhappiness and stress.
Instead of searching outside ourselves for joy, make one decision TODAY that will increase your happiness factor. Call a friend for lunch. Get outside for a walk. Hire a housekeeper. Schedule a date with your partner. Send a card to a loved one. Make a decision that requires active participation in your own life!
Make it a strong day!
